I recently read this article about methods to clean cast iron skillets. Starting from the old method like salt & paper towels, salt & brush, raw potato & baking soda, using boiling water, until the one using eco friendly dish soap

Which one do you think is the best way to clean it, or maybe do you have any other method?
Hit me with your insights guys!

I usually stick with hot water and a stiff brush right after cooking because it gets most of the residue off without messing with the seasoning, try coarse salt too, I only reach for dish soap occasionally

I use a Lodge plastic scraper with plain hot tap water, then follow with an older Lodge small brush and more hot water. I then set it on the stove and turn on the gas to dry any water in it. I then apply a light coat of oil and that's it. My cast iron and carbon steel pans are all seasoned. I never use any soap as it's not needed. This works for me.

+1 @BigBob75 I just use salt with a paper towel or brush it is handy when food is stuck. This can help remove it without stripping the seasoning. My neighbor also told me that I can use a potato with baking soda for stubborn spots. I haven't tried it yet but I always keep it in mind when cleaning my cast iron skillet. Make sure that the pan is fully dry and lightly oiled before storing it.

night game,
I've never used the salt or potato to clean my pans, but drying them completely and then applying a light coat of oil is SO IMPORTANT to keep them from quick rusting.
