Troubleshooting a new manual charger for my electrolysis tank

I just bought a new battery charger for my electrolysis tank and I am confused by the readings I am getting. The unit has settings for six and twenty five and one hundred fifty amps but the gauge stays at zero no matter which one I choose. My water is foamy and has some bubbles so I know something is happening and the cables are not getting hot to the touch. I am using a clean anode that is two feet tall and placed very close to my cast iron griddle. But the water is not heating up at all and the results look about the same as my old ten amp charger. I am trying to figure out if my gauge is broken or if I am doing something wrong with my setup. And I really want to know if using the high one hundred fifty amp setting is actually safe for cleaning iron.

@badGamer Have you checked your water mixture to ensure you have enough washing soda to carry the electrical current?

You should test the charger on a regular car battery to see if the amp gauge moves at all.

Does the foam on the surface of the water look white or is it turning a rusty brown color already?

@badGamer It is a good idea to stay away from the one hundred fifty amp setting because it is usually for jump starting and can be too powerful for a tank.
