Vintage cast iron skillet

Many will say I'm going crazy, maybe I am, but anyways. A couple of weeks ago I spoke with an old aqauaintance and he mentioned that the vintage ones are way better. It stuck in my mind and now I want to know if its true. Since it's vintage, I'm guessing they're not cheap, so how much would I be paying for something like this? Also, what brands are good?

Tell me about it! Saw an old Griswold, it's a small one for around $100 at a flea market. Rare ones can go higher. Have you spotted any local listings or are you hunting online?

You're not crazy, vintage gear can be legit better, depending on what you're after, the price totally depends on the condition and brand, but expect to shell out if it's clean and working, look for names like Nakamichi, or Marantz

Yeah vintage are always more expensive lol. They're usually more expensive than new ones, anywhere from $50 up to a few $100s depending on the brand and condition. Brands like Griswold and Wagner are the favorites and most popluar, people love them because they cook evenly and just get better with age.

Thanks for answering guys. So about a $100 or a bit more for a vintage skillet? That's not too much, esepcially when you consider your grandkids will probably use it

Absolutely, that's a reasonable value, plus, it's wonderful to think that future generations will get to enjoy it as well
