Hello All!,
I want to purchase a battery charger to EXCUSIVELY de-rust my cast iron pans. I have a good battery charger now, BUT I just want one to de-rust cast iron. Does anyone know of a good, reasonably priced 10 AMP, 12 volt charger I can purchase? Thanks to all. God Bless. Bob

I'm thinking about a Schumacher SE-82-6 , 6amp/2amp MANUAL battery charger. Any comments/recommendations?

What about a Schumacher 12V 10A for $45 or DeWalt DXAEC10 for $65. Both are reliable, affordable, and perfect for electrolysis derusting. What'd you say ?

hi @BigBob75 yeah, the Schumacher SE 82-6, it's great for electrolysis precisely because it's a manual charger. Most modern automatic chargers will shut off immediately.
6 amps is actually plenty for a cast iron pan setup (2-3 amps is often all you need, 6 amps is fast)
the fact that it's switchable (6A/2A) and fully manual means it will deliver a constant, uninterrupted charge to your tank. Go for it, you found a great classic model for this job

ironk1ng,
Thanks for that info. I'm looking for one now! God Bless. Bob

Found a charger. I hope it works when I get it. NOS, too! Now to purchase a tote and Arm & Hammer Washing Soda. I'm sure I have some old iron laying around somewhere and I can grind it clean. Hardware and I'm all set, I hope!
