I KNOW, I KNOW, this is a cast iron forum, BUT if you use a 12 cup Zero Water pitcher WITH a spigot, it will eventually fail as they are the weak link in this great water purifier pitcher. If you have a pitcher without a spigot, you're ahead of the game. I wash and dry my pitcher every time I change the Zero Water filter and just run clear tap water through the spigot to get any soap out of it. Then I dry it with clean paper towels. The last time I pushed the spigot button, the whole button assembly came out of the pitcher and would not return! . As I don't really use the spigot, I left it out and filled the entire spigot button hole and water spout with FOOD GRADE SILICONE. The silicone for a fish tank MAY also be good, but I just used the food grade silicone and let it harden for 2 1/2 days. I filled the pitcher with tap water as usual and checked it with the Zero Water test meter and it shows all zeros! SUCCESS! The tube of silicone was cheaper than a new pitcher and this senior citizen doesn't have to purchase, transport and store bottled water! God Bless. Bob
