I got these black specks on my food when I'm cooking with my cast iron pan. okay, before anyone here judges me, I think I've cleaned my pan properly, using chain mail with dish soap, then with a sponge with dish soap. I also added 2 layers of seasoning with grape seed oil before cooking.
what are these black specks and is it safe if I accidentally eat them?
also, how to get rid of them completely? thanks for your advice!

that usually happens when the seasoning is still thin or uneven and also if soap was used which can strip some of the protective coating. It's not dangerous but it is just annoying when you see it on your food. Just add more thin coats of oil baked on at high heat and avoid scrubbing too aggressively so the surface stabilizes. It should become durable again over time with repeated cooking and proper seasoning.
