castwell skillet company info ?

I picked up a vintage Castwell Ironworks #10 skillet at a local shop for $58 yesterday. The bottom had an interesting stamp similar to one I found in a link below, but I couldn't find any mention of the brand online. Does anyone have any info on this company or its history?

i have never heard of Castwell Ironworks either but that #10 skillet sounds like a cool find for $58! the stamp you mentioned might be a clue but some smaller foundries didn't leave much of a trace online. i also checked the markings against old cast iron catalogs or forums like Cast Iron Collector. it could be a regional maker from way back.

Never heard of it. it was probably a labeled private brand or regional producer, that's why there is no information online about it.

Castwell Ironworks is a metal fabricator in san fransisco. the company makes custom ironworks. I think you got yourself a treasure!

Not a popular brand, but a quick search gives Smithey Ironware. Not sure if that's exactly it.
