It's peach season, so much fun to cook some dump cobbler in a cast iron. Secret is getting the cast iron hot before putting everything into the oven. Just saying.

Nice, thanks for the tip. That looks so gooood. And yes, getting that cast iron screaming hot before the cobbler goes in is the move. :) Describe the taste here, will ya? Since we can't go barge in your house for a taste.

That's a nice tip and I plan to try it in the next few days. At what temp do you put the cast iron and how long do you leave it in?

Sounds like pure summer bliss!! I'm always looking for new ways to use seasonal fruits! I'm wondering if you have other secret ingredients for your dump cobbler?

Do you use fresh peaches or canned for your dump cobbler, and do you go with a cake mix or something homemade? Would love to give your version a shot!

Okay, I tried this once and I ended up with a burned bottom which felt like it took forever to clean off. Where did I go wrong? I followed the recipe perfectly. @BigBob75 sorry my man, don't remember the recipe I used.

Better luck next time! Never give up, never surrender! God Bless. Bob

How about the cobbler recipe? Thanks. God Bless. Bob
Heat oven to 350
2 15 oz cans peaches, 1 stick butter, 1 yellow cake mix.
Spray cast iron pan with non stick spray, pour in peaches, cover with cake mix. melt butter and sprinkle over cake mix. Use fork to spread cake mix so all is moist. Bake for 30 minutes, until top is cooked to a crispy crust.

I do the same as pippin except I put in two cans of cherries with the cake mix a quarter lb of butter and instead of a pan I use an 8" dutch oven and put charcoal top and bottom, same 30 minutes. It's called a dump cake, the boy scouts loved it.
