I've been eyeing a vintage cast iron waffle iron, but here's the catch: I'm on an electric range. Does anyone here actually run one on electric successfully?
My gut says it won't heat evenly... hotspots in the middle, cooler edges... and that you'll be flipping and fussing with it constantly. Gas makes sense since you can control the flame, but electric coils or glass tops? Not so sure.
So before I drop money on an iron I might never use: anyone with first-hand experience? Worth it, or better to stick with a modern plug-in waffle maker unless I move back to gas?
