Does anyone have a favorite dutch oven?

I picked up one from Lodge, and it does the job, but it's started to get some wear, around the enamel and if it chips it's out. It' was $40 at Sam's Club vs some I've seen for $300!

Well, as long as there are no loose pieces, it's still good. If there's small chip, try a food-safe epoxy but if the damage is larger, I'd prefer you don't risk using it.

I started with Lodge and Cuisinart because they're what I can afford. They great actually ad has become my go-to brands.
Funny I was just talking to my mom about her Le Creuset and Staub Dutch oven collection. She said I shouldn't worry because I'll inherit them.

Poor schmuck me started with Lodge but hey, it works perfectly! I still a few of them.

I think it's still good if the underlying cast iron is not significantly exposed, but of course there are potential safety risks. I only have two Le Creusets. They're too expensive!!!

I did this, I cleaned the surrounding area where the small chip was and the applied food-safe epoxy. Make sure it's food safe.

Lodge isn't that cheap anymore. I noticed the price starting to increase. It's trending. Check out my latest post about the trend.

Is it still within warranty? I know Lodge offers a "Made Right" limited lifetime warranty. I suggest contacting them if it's covered for replacement.

Worst case, don't throw it away. Repurpose it as a decor item or as a pot for your plants. They actually look interesting.

I saw one who used it for succulents. Really creative.
