Gatemark kettle

I have a gatemark 8 I want to know if it is safe to use. It has lime build up inside. I put it on the stove and the outside bubbled green and wiped off with a rag. It doesn't smell like paint, but Idk.

Yeah, I’d be a little hesitant after seeing that happen. Lime buildup is one thing but the outside bubbling green from heat would make me want to figure out what that coating is before using it again.
