Hello everyone, new member here from Texas. Greater DFW area.

I've been collecting and using cast iron cookware for about 8 years now. I started with a few pieces from an Antique Mall and the local flea market. Now my household is almost exclusively cast iron cookware, with a few SS pots for boiling water.

I collect to use, so unless I find a high end piece for a sweetheart deal (has happened before), I generally look for the diamond in the rough. As always I've had my fair share of cracks and warps on my restoration pieces, but when that crusty iron comes out looking like new, the satisfaction keeps me going back.

Welcome from another cast iron fan! There's just something so so so satisfying about bringing a rusty, neglected piece back to life and putting it back into regular kitchen duty.

Feel free to explore the forum and I am looking forward to seeing more of your restorations and finds.
